12th MASTERS INTERNATIONAL SPEED SKATING SPRINT CLASSIC - DAY 1

The first round of 500m and 1000m races were completed January 21, 2006 in Inzell Germany.

Canadian Patrick Kelly, competing in the men's 40-44 class, won both events clocking 38.12 and 1:18.36 respectively.

In the men's 35-39 class, Andrew Love of Adirondack New York led the way with times of 37.47 and 1:17.37. For the 3rd time this season, Andrew appears to have broken the 500m record for his age group having done so 2 weeks earlier in Hamar and again last weekend in Davos.

Fellow American, Boris Leiken won both events in the men's 50-54 class registering 39.51 and 1:20.25. Boris also appears to have set a new 500m record for this age group.

The 2nd round of racing takes place tomorrow on the famed Eisstadion oval.
